Clinical Information
This assay determines JAK2 V617F mutation status. The JAK2 V617 mutation is found in 65-97% of pateints with polycythemia vera (PV), 23-57% with essential thrombocythemia (ET), and 43-50% with idiopathic myelofibrosis.

Special Considerations
- Frozen blood and bone marrow samples are NOT accepted.
- Extracted DNA: Isolation of nucleic acids for clinical testing must occur in a CLIA-certified laboratory or a laboratory meeting equivalent requirements. Concentration and volume must be provided for all samples.
Associations
Chronic myeloproliferative disorders (MPD); Hydroxurea
